Our History

O Lord, thou art my God;
I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;
for thou hast done wonderful things;
thy counsels of old
are faithfulness and truth.

~ Isaiah 25:1 ~

Pine Hill Baptist Church

Pine Hill Baptist church is located on Beech Grove road in the Pine Hill Community.  The first church building was built in 1908 on the hill above the Ola Mitchell home.  In 1920 the members moved into a rock building, affectionately referred to as the Old Rock Church, which was located almost on the same site as the present church building. The current church building was built in 1948.  When looking over the past 100 years of Pine Hill Baptist Church the Lord has always been aboard this spiritual vessel as it continues to sail toward its home in glory.

Pine Hill is not defined by the several buildings that have been erected over the years.  Pine Hill is defined by its God fearing people.  Over the past 10 decades this spirit driven congregation has praised the Lord in the brightest days and have cried out to Him in times of turbulent storms.

When I reflect on this group of believers, I recall my favorite passage of scripture: Mark 4:35-39.  Pine Hill has always been a church who knew without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus could be called upon and He could bring peace, joy and great calm in the hearts and minds of this bible believing church.

Friends that is why the doors to this church have remained open over the past 100 years, because a body of believers has embraced what the word of God tells us in Hebrews 13:5. “I will never leave thee, nor forsake Thee”.

The church is known for its loving people.  It is also known for its location: “by the big rock”.  The rock welcomes everyone by the saying painted on it: “For whosoever shall calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13.

I feel blessed to be a part of Pine Hill Church as it continues to grow and prosper in the kingdom work.
